edu.lu is the URL shortener developed and managed by the Restena Foundation on behalf of members of the research and education community in Luxembourg.

Functioning

With edu.lu you can shorten any long URL with a URL starting with edu.lu. Creating a short URL is particularly useful when long URLs are awkward, for example, in presentation slides, printed documents or on social networks.

Short URLs are in the form "edu.lu/code" and do not have any expiration date

All students, teachers, professors, researchers, and administrative staff of the Luxembourg research and education community managed by Restena can freely use the website.

Respect for privacy

edu.lu:

• is safer and more privacy-friendly than commercial alternatives. Through the RESTENA network, only people within Luxembourg's research and education sectors can create links, thus preventing abuse.
• does not store any personal data. Only a persistent ID is transferred to edu.lu via the RESTENA network.
• tracks only the total number of clicks and not the visitors.
• uses modern web standards
